GREENVILLE, Mich. (FOX 17) –

Fake $100 bills were passed at a gas station and a market in the Greenville area, and now a 71-year-old Greenville man is in jail.

The counterfeit money was passed twice at the Admiral station at 6990 S. Greenville Road and at Michael’s Farm Market at 1944 N. Greenville Road, said the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department.

The Secret Service, which enforces and investigates counterfeit cases, has been informed.

Evidence at the suspect’s home on E. Summit Street in Greenville leads investigators to believe charges in addition to forgery charges could be filed.
