Three Suspects Plead Not Guilty To $5.5 Million Marijuana Indictment

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– Three suspects involved in a ten-man, $5.5 million marijuana indictment plead not guilty.

Earlier this month, Ten suspects were indicted in a $5.5 million marijuana operation. On November 14, three of those suspects pleaded not guilty in a pretrial conference.

Sources confirm that the suspects were indicted for transporting $5.5 million of marijuana from Northern California to the Grand Rapids Area.

The suspects who entered the not-guilty pleas are Thomas Verburg, Cathrine Weitz, and Christy Weitz. Another suspect, Daniel Verburg, making his initial court appearance, was  at the pretrial conference.

The others names that appeared on the indictment were:  Timothy Lang, Kyle McDonald, Ramiro Romas, Edward Sund, Brian Verberg and Chad Weitz.

All of the suspects who appeared in court were issued unsecured bonds and released.

The date when the suspects will next appear in court is not known at this time.
