WASHINGTON, D.C. –

A heads-up for parents with small children: more than 200,000 travel beds are being recalled due to the risk of suffocation.

The recall of the Peapod and Peapod Plus travel beds come partially because of a 5-month old boy who was killed. The child was found dead last year with his face pressed against the wall of the tent. There’s also been other reports of children who had problems with the mattress included with the product.

The travel tents were made in China and sold at independent specialty stores across the country, as well as on amazon.com. The tents cost between $70 and $100 and would have been purchased between January 2005 and now.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the tents have a zippered side and an inflatable air mattress that fits into a zippered pocket. If you have one of these tents, stop using it immediately and contact KidCo Inc.
