The registers were ringing in full force by 10:00 p.m Thursday at the Target on Alpine Avenue in Walker after the store opened around 9:00 p.m.

Dozens of people had been lined up since 3:00 a.m Thanksgiving morning. The same story could be seen at other retailers all across Our West Michigan. The Toys R Us location in Walker had a line wrapping around the building. People had been lining up at Best Buy since last Saturday.

As you can imagine, most people were looking for electronics, cell phones, cameras, and TVs.

Black Friday is more than just getting good deals, it’s about the thrill of the hunt to many shoppers. To store customers, it’s like the shopping Super Bowl, and it’s not for wimps.

Eager bargain hunters scoured through ads preparing ahead of time, some even plotted it out at the store well in advance.

Gone are the days of door-busting madness. Many retailers are staggering sales at different start times creating a steadier flow of holiday shoppers.
