Thousands Raised To Buy Truck For Wounded Marine

GRANDVILLE, Mich. – Thousands of dollars in donations have come in since Tuesday when FOX 17 aired the story of a wounded Marine looking for a new truck.

There has been more than $5,100 worth of donations dropped off at Borgman Ford-Mazda directly according to Scott Gibbons, Bogman Ford-Mazda Sales Manager.

Thrailkill was injured while serving in Afghanistan as a Marine combat engineer. He found an IED as he tried to back away from the device it detonated leaving him without his legs.

Thrailkill has been rehabilitating in Washington D.C. but will return to his homestate on December 2.

Gibbins also says there are even more coming donations arriving at Bogman Ford-Mazda through the mail, as well as from local businesses gathering their own funds.

Donations can continue to be given at Borgman Ford-Mazda at 3150 28th Street SW in Grandville. Donors can also give in Robert’s name atthe Semper Fi Fund website.
