GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After 25 years of leadership, the President of Amway Hotels is stepping down from the position.

Joseph Tomaselli, West Michigan Amway Hotel Corporation President, announced his retirement will come into effect on December 31, 2012.

The current vice president and managing director, Rick Winn, will take Tomaselli’s place as president starting January 1, 2013. Tomaselli supports Winn as the Corporation’s next president.

Over the past 25 years, Tomaselli has helped the Amway Hotel Corporation expand from one hotel, the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, to three premiere hotels adding the J. W. Marriott and the Courtyard Marriott. These expansions increased the number of hotel rooms from 682 to over 1,200.

In his time with the hotel corporation, Tomaselli has also helped expand the city core of Grand Rapids through continued investments, and is currently serving as the chair of the Grand Rapids Areonautics Board, vice chair of the Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention/Arena Authority and is also part of the Downtown Development Authority.

Tomaselli is retiring so that he can spend more time with his family in St. Louis.
