Suspect Still On The Loose After Escaping From Police Cruiser

PORTAGE, Mich – The Portage Department of Public Safety is searching for a suspect that escaped from a police cruiser while handcuffed.

Officers were called to the 7500 block of South Westnedge around 1:25 a.m. on December 3 on reports of a fight in progress.

Brandon Wayne Brock, 31, was arrested for assault after officers found him attacking another person on the ground in a parking lot.

Brock was handcuffed and put in the back of a police cruiser, but he managed to crawl through the security screen that was left open and escaped.

A K-9 unit from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department was brought to the scene to find him, but Brock remained on the loose Wednesday afternoon.

Brock is 5’5″, approximately 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
