GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- The Gerald R. Ford Museum will be turning on their Christmas lights on Thursday, December 6.

Thousands of lights inside and outside the museum on Pearl Street will be turned on at 7 p.m. The Salvation Army Band and the Dickens Carolers will be performing holiday songs.

Susan Ford Bales, the President Gerald R. Ford’s daughter, will be on hand for the ceremony. After the ceremony, guests can go inside for free cookies, coffee, and hot chocolate. Admission to the event and the museum afterward is free.

Christmas on the Grand, an annual display, will be open inside the museum. It will show nearly two dozen Christmas trees and holiday quilts. Awards for the trees will be given out during tonight’s program. The display will be up until January 2.
