
GRAND RAPIDS Mich. – Police arrested a man who robbed a Fifth Third Bank Thursday afternoon.
The branch located at 700 Bridge Street NW was robbed just after 12:30 p.m.
Witnesses say the suspect entered the bank with a note demanding money and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was arrested by the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) around 8:15 p.m. after a short chase inside a police perimeter near Watson Street NW and Gold Street.
GRPD retrieved a gun during the arrest.
He’s described as a male, about 5-feet 5-inches tall, slim build wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
The Grand Rapids Police Department Major Case Team and the FBI are investigating this robbery.
The suspects name will be released pending arraignment.

Banks should have doors that lock automatically when the button is pressed.After all I go to that bank and there are 2 sets of doors to go thru..Just lock the bums in the glass hallway and watch them squirm like the criminals they are until the police arrive,It is a very simple procedure to get the crooks when there is only one way out.
