Honda has recalled a more than 800,000 SUVs and minivans because it may be possible to pull the key out of the ignition while the vehicle is running and moving.

The company says the recall includes 2003 and 2004 Pilot SUVs and Odyssey minivans, in addition to 2003-2006 Acura MDX cars.

The key could come out because the ” interlock lever of the ignition switch may deform, which can allow the interlock function of a vehicle with an automatic transmission to be defeated, says the National Transportation Safety Board.

Honda dealers will replace the shift interlock lever for owners who receive recall notices. Those notices should go out in the first week of February 2013.

Owners may contact Honda at 800-999-1009.
