WALKER, Mich– Crooked Goose, a local pub and restaurant, announced that it plans to donate $1,286 to the Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank, following a Facebook initiative earlier this week.

The restaurant said it would donate $1 for every new “like” on its Facebook page from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Once the day rolled around, they decided to extend the fundraiser first until 5 p.m., then again until 6. By the end, there were 643 new “likes” on the page.

Crooked Goose decided it will double its donation and give $1,286. That donation amount will help the food bank serve more than 5,100 meals.

The promotion went along with the Food Bank’s Million Meal March, which helps buy 1 million meals for needy families in West Michigan.

This is the second time the restaurant and food bank have worked together; they teamed up back in June to donate during the pub’s grand opening.
