GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –

Police identify Eve’Ana Galloway, 20, as the young woman who was found shot to death in her apartment Saturday.

Family members say she was a graduate of Union High School.

Family members rushed to the scene when they got the call something had happened Saturday afternoon. Some members of the crowd got into a minor scuffle with others who had gathered in the area and with police who were there to investigate and protect the scene.

Tensions were running high because friends, family and other members of the community were just discovering their loved one was dead.

Eve’Ana’s mother collapsed as she waited outside her daughter’s Walnut Grove apartment. “I want my baby! I want my baby!” she cried. Friends held Eve’Ana’s mom tight, telling us Eve’Ana’s body was still lin the apartment as investigators tried to figure out what had happened there.I’m all cried out. I can’t cry no more,” said Ruth Johnson, Eve’Ana’s great aunt. “I didn’t believe it. I didn’t believe it, you know, because she’s so nice and friendly to everybody.”Friends and family believe Eve’Ana’s young son was in the apartment when she was killed. Police confirm he was in there at the time, but was not injured.

When the body was brought out on a stretcher, her mother yelled, “I love you. I love you.”

“She was a real nice sweet, liked to do practical jokes and she was real nice you know,” said Johnson.

A group of family members gathered behind the police tape that was stretched around the outside of the apartment cried, “This is not right!  This is not right!”

Grand Rapids Police say they are not sure at this time when the shooting took place. They say an autopsy may reveal more details about time of death. An autopsy will be conducted at Blodgett Hospital.

Police say there was another female homicide victim found on Prince Street yesterday. They are still investigating to find out if the deaths are connected.
