
IONIA, Mich. — The driver of a pickup that went airborne on an Ionia County road early Wednesday is now identified as Brett Allen Petersen, 28.
Chad Ronald-Flashaar Saladin, 27, of Greenville, died in the crash. Another passenger, Ryan Lee Johnson, 35, was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital and is expected to recover.
The silver F-150 left the pavement on Jefferson Road north of Nickleplate Road in Ronald Township northeast of Ionia. The pickup hit a culvert and a vehicle parked in a yard, coming to rest on its side.
Petersen was arrested at the scene. He is being charged with operating while intoxicated, causing death, which is a 15 year felony.
He is being held at the Ionia County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond
