MUSKEGON, Mich. – The father charged in the death of his infant son admits to violently shaking the baby.
A detective spoke with Anthony Casanova shortly after arriving to his home, on a call that his baby was not breathing,
Officials found baby Tyler unresponsive when they arrived at the home.
Casanova admitted to the detective that he had been violently shaking the baby. He also admitted to throwing baby Tyler down onto the bed. Casanova then told the detective that he “bear hugged” the baby two times until he quit breathing.
The abuse was consistent to the autopsy results, which showed the infant had multiple ribs broken and bruising.
The autopsy also indicated that prior broken ribs had already healed on the infant.

I worked with this man for a long time and I just can't believe what he's done:( that poor baby:( how could anyone harm a human being especially a baby? I don't think he'll ever get what he deserves, I'm just shocked, truly shocked!!!!

How sad and to think there are so many people who would have taken that baby in a heartbeat and loved him the way that he deserved. So sad that another baby has earned their angel wings and someone so heartless was given the chance to be a part of his life. My heart thoughts and prayers go out to the family dealing with the loss of this angel

I worked with him too, and I am just speechless!!! I hope he never gets out of jail to be able to hurt any other child again!! And to think that the baby had broken ribs that were already healing, WTH!!!! An eye for an eye would work for me!!!!!!!

It's crazy that u can see this person everyday and talk to him for 11 years and not know what they're capable of:( that's how long I worked at knoll but he's been there a lot longer, I guess he decided to move to the sweet life of prison for his retirement years:( so sad

Well its crazy you can get on here if you know him and not even say one good comment. If you really know Anthony then you would know how much he loved all his children. I just think all the people from Knoll that do know Anthony could at least say something good since we all know this is something that was totally out of Anthony's character. Does this sound like the man you worked with the past 11 years?

Shut the fuck up!!! I never said he didn't love his family and I can say whatever I want to say!!! I also remember him being married and hitting on me all the time and making stupid comments so I know him pretty well but I refuse to defend anyone who does things like that when they could have gotten some help and trust me, I know a lot more than u may think but I don't have to sit here and justify myself to u!!! I feel horrible for his family and understand life gets pretty hard, but u deal with it or get help!!!!!

Obviously it’s not Anthony’s family’s fault so have some respect for them if you have none for him which given the allegations are understandable.

Well I know for a fact this baby didn’t have previously cracked ribs or abuse. I’ve held and had this baby several times prior to the incident and what the idiots down at the Prosecutor’s office aren’t saying is this baby was just seen by a physician just a few days prior to the incident with no cracked ribs or “prior healing” So until the case actually goes to trial and ALL evidence is released people should not judge the situation until they know EVERYTHING. I’m not saying these circumstances aren’t completely messed up, but again we need to keep in mind that Muskegon County has a new Prosecutor that is trying to make a name for himself so of course they want to make this seem as horrific as possible to put his face on the camera. It is an absolutely sad situation and its extremly unfortunate a child died in the process. I just had to comment cause there are thing people don’t know and not everything that is in the media is true. Comment if you like and call me crazy, sick, or just as bad, but at the end of the day people should really consider there is always more to a story and there is nothing that has been proven to be 100% true. I just feel bad for the mother for the lost of her child and the families of Anthony that have to read all your sick negitive comments when you have no real facts.

You're absolutely right and I'm extremely sorry!! I couldn't Imagine going through this especially if he is innocent, and to answer your previous question, no I can not see him doing what he's being accused of!!! I honestly don't believe in the " justice system" just because I think they're crooked as hell and I'm hoping he did not do it!!!! I pray for all of them and feel horrible for the mother as well. He admitted to it, what more do you people need? As to the comment about the baby just being to the doctor, unless that baby had an x-ray during a normal check up the doctor wouldn't have known. Go ahead and support your baby killer, I'll sit back and hope he dies in prison where he belongs.

As far as him admitting to it you or i haven’t seen no video. Why don’t you go and support the new prosecutor and his attempt to use other people’s down falls for his personal gain. I guarantee if you had a loved one on the hot seat you’d take a stand too. Another thing a baby would have a difficulty breathing with cracked ribs. The baby would have been extremely irritable and believe me this was a smiling happy baby. And to clarify things I’m not a baby killer supporter I’m stating the facts. If its proven through facts he did all those things then fine but till then don’t speak about crap you don’t know nothing about.

I think everyone should be thinking about that poor mother who just lost her precious baby and quit fighting about how guilty he is. He shook a baby and killed it. He admitted to it. It doesn't matter who he was prior to the incident. He did it and in that moment he was a person who was obviously not in his right mind. There is a family grieving right now. A mother with empty arms. That's what should be in this conversation thread. Not a bunch of swearing and vulgarity.

I want to say i am sorry this family has to go through this trying time with the loss of their angel. I know what that feels like even tho mine was an accicient and not by the hands of another. I will keep them in prayer and even tho it hurts please remember this angel is in the arms of the Lord now. he is looking down on you and don't want you to stop your life and be sad for ever.
