WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — After the first subzero low temperature in two years, temperatures didn’t recover much Tuesday afternoon. The map shows highs on Tuesday afternoon across West Michigan. As you can see, many areas stayed in the single digits.

In Grand Rapids, the official high temperature was just 10 above.  This set a new record for the coldest high temperature for the date. The old record was 12 degrees, set in 1961. Further, it has been over four years since a daytime high was this cold. On January 15, 2009, the high temperature was also 10 degrees. The last time we had a single-digit high temperature was in 2007. On February 4 of that year, the high temperature was just 4 above.

Warmer temperatures are on the way. For a look at the forecast, visit the FOX 17 weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
