Heavy Lake-Effect Snow This Evening

WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Lake-effect snow is getting heavy this afternoon, making for some tough travel conditions across West Michigan. This image shows LIVE FOX 17 radar. ┬áSome heavy snow is occurring in Allegan, Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon Counties. Additional accumulations in these areas will be 4 to 6 inches, on top of the 6 to 8 inches that has already fallen.

Since temperatures have warmed, the snowflakes are a lot larger. However, the “warmer” temperatures are also making the chemicals used to treat the roads much more effective.
