Semi Truck Driver Dies In I-94 Crash

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff Department says one person is dead after his semi rear-ended his co-workers semi on I-94 Thursday morning near Galesburg.

Around 10:30am Thursday morning two semis from the same company were following each other on westbound I-94 near Galesburg where their were multiple slide offs.

The first semi started braking to avoid an accident and the brakes locked up.  The second semi started to brake and the brakes locked up causing it to hit the back of the first semi.  The semi caught fire and the driver in the second semi truck died at the scene.

The accident is still being investigated.

    There was accidents on the eastbound side as well from people rubber necking. As well as another westbound accident @ the rest area. Slow down michigan, and please take the time 2 look more than a 1/4 mile ahead.

      What were they doing,? We all new it was slick it was all over the radio b4 it happened. I do think it's very sad and unfortunite
