WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Some active weather is on the way over the next couple of days as we transition back to winter weather on Wednesday.

Mild air over a snowpack is the perfect setup for fog, and that has been occurring over parts of West Michigan already today. This graphic shows the current visibility. Some areas are already under one mile. All of us are under a dense fog advisory until 11AM Tuesday. There could be some school delays Tuesday morning because of the dense fog.

Further, heavy rain and flooding could be an issue as well Tuesday. Computer model estimates of almost two inches of rain seem to be pretty accurate. The heavy rain, coupled with the melting snow, could create some street and river flooding. The entire area is under a flood watch from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

Mild temperatures Monday will be even warmer on Tuesday. FOX 17 is forecasting a high of 58 degrees, just short of the record high of 59 set in 1914.

Winter returns Wednesday, with gusty winds, falling temperatures, and falling snow.
