Fire Damages Walker Restaurant

WALKER, Mich. — Fire crews were on the scene of a fire at a Walker restaurant early Tuesday.

The fire at the China Chef, 4335 Lake Michigan Drive, was first reported around 4:30 a.m. The flames started in one of the overhead metal hoods in the kitchen and shot up through the exhaust vent, according to crews on the scene.

The restaurant suffered water damage to the kitchen and may have roof damage.

Assistance was called for a tanker from Marne to help.

    haha the tanker from marne prolly hasnt even showed up yet and it was 4 hours ago
