Indiana Beats Michigan in Top Three Showdown

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Michigan was facing its second tough road test of the season and left with its second loss of the season.

The Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Michigan Wolverines 81-73 at Assembly Hall in a battle of two of the top three teams in the nation. Cody Zeller led the Hoosiers with 19 points and nine rebounds. Christian Watford had a double-double for Indiana with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Sophomore point guard Trey Burke led Michigan with 25 points and eight assists while Tim Hardaway Jr. added 18 points. Mitch McGary had 10 points and seven boards off the bench, but fellow freshman Glenn Robinson III had just two points and four rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. Michigan made just 42.9-percent of it’s field goals and shot just 30.4-percent from beyond the arc.

Michigan will host Indiana on March 10 in the final game of the regular season for both teams.
