GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -The City of Grand Rapids will be hiring a new comptroller.
Mayor George Heartwell said the job will be posted onWednesday.
The previous comptroller stepped down and said the position should be eliminated, but voters rejected the idea once it hit the ballot.
The comptroller is responsible for the city’s check book.
Someone will be appointed to this position for the remainder of the year, until they elect someone in November.
