CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. – The Cedar Springs Police Department has arrested a man for allegedly stealing a credit that went missing back in December. Officials also think the suspect could be linked to other credit card thefts.
Anthony David Popielarz, 20, of Sand Lake was taken into custody on Feb. 5.
The credit card that was stolen back in December was taken out of a parked vehicle. The card was used at numerous local businesses, racking up more than $334.
Another case involved a lost or stolen credit card that was also being used at local businesses. There was also a credit card stolen from a vehicle that was parked in the alley between Ash Street and Cherry Street.
Popielarz is considered a person of interest in those cases.
He is being at the Kent County Correctional Facility on a $3,000 bond pending his arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
