IONIA COUNTY, Mich. –An Ionia County man was arrested on child sexual abuse charges Monday night.
According to IDPS Deputy Director John Odette, the mother of the alleged 5-year-old victim came forward earlier that day with a complaint of possible child abuse. Later that night, after interviewing the mother and child, officials arrested John Schmitz, 34.
Schmitz was arraigned Wednesday on six counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree. He was also arraigned on one count of violating his parole.
The suspect is being held at the Ionia County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Very hard to believe a guy like john would do something like that. Without evidence on here I choose not to believe he did anything.

Kev not fair to say that, the man in question is a 3 time drunk driver not a hell bound felon. that by no means takes away from what he is accused of. If they find him guilty may he set in prison.

Marty if you know anything about the criminal justice system you know 3rd conviction is technically a felony, but few go to prison after 3. If that happens you have several similar convictions for related offenses of a lessor charge. Ex-con, young children, bad combination, mother not real bright, case closed!

how do you know he is guilty? Are you suggesting im ignorant? Far from being that. If you know he is guilty you must be close to the case and there for your the one who overlooked him.
