NORTON SHORES, Mich. — An early morning fire left residents of a Norton Shores apartment complex without anywhere to live Saturday.
At 1:17 a.m. Saturday, the Norton Shores Fire Department responded to a fire at the Lake Forest Apartments at 581 Lake Forest Lane in Norton Shores. Two apartment buildings with 12 apartments each were evacuated.
The Norton Shores Fire Department told FOX 17 NEWS that one building with 12 apartments was destroyed and that the other building may eventually be habitable again.
The temperature was 12 degrees at the time of the blaze.
Twelve American Red Cross Disaster Response volunteers provided the residents with a place to stay, food, clothing, comfort kits and medical needs in the wake of the blaze.
It is unknown when the residents will be able to return to their homes.
There were no injuries.
