WEST MICHIGAN – Our FOX 17 radar shows rain is developing across West Michigan from the southwest to the northeast. All of the green on the radar image over Michigan denotes rain, while yellow is the embedded steadier rain falling and orange is some smaller pockets of moderate rain. The area of rain is out ahead of a cold front and is lifting in from the south/southwest to the north/northeast.

Notice the large low pressure system off to our north/west with snow (in blue) wrapped around it. Winter storm warnings and blizzard warnings are in effect for some areas (outside of Michigan) with this system. Click heretop see all the watches, warnings, and advisories. Temperatures are expected to warm to around 40 degrees or little more by midnight as we continue to see a push of warmer air with this system from the south. Our warmest temperatures on Monday will likely occur at or shortly after midnight, before falling into the low/mid 30s throughout the day.

Any lingering light rain will mix with and changeover to snow showers Monday where a few inches may fall, especially along and west of U.S. 131. Colder temperatures punching in by the end of the week will likely generate more accumulating snow and lake-effect as well. Get more by going to www.fox17online.com/weather.
