GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer has announced plans to reinvest more than $ 160 million in stores as well as jobs this year.
The multimillion dollar plan includes construction for six superstore centers across Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. In addition, there are five remodeling projects, and the Meijer location at Knapp’s Corner is included.
Upgrades include lighting and heating, as well as cafe seating and Starbucks locations.
The company says this plan will create more than 1,500 new jobs.
Currently, Meijer operates almost 200 supercenters and grocery stores across five states.
