GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- The renovations continue at Centerpointe Mall in Grand Rapids, located at 28th Street and East Beltline, changing it from an indoor mall to a 550,000 square foot Power Center.

A spokesperson for Lormax Sterns, Chris Brochert, said that as of March 3, 2013, a new TJ Maxx/Home Goods store will open right next to the now demolished Klingman’s. The former TJ Maxx site will be torn down. Signs are already on the door of Menards, indicating that it will close down. Brochert said that the dates is sometime in July with a north end renovation then taking place. He added that 98 percent of the new development is leased and will include: Dress Barn, ULTA, Five Below, World Market and Rue 21 when the first phase is completed in June. Current favorites such as Nordstrom Rack, Jo Ann Fabrics, Golf Galaxy and Dunham’s will remain at their current locations.

The owner of Lady’s Designer Outlet, Mary Arbanas, had to move out after many years at the mall due to higher rent. However, Arbanas completely understands that the structuring is more for bigger retailers. However, she did not give up, moving to the D & W Shopping Plaza, next to Hallmark, in Cascade Twp.
