West Michigan Native in Stands at Daytona Nationwide Crash

West Michigan native and Nascar fan Kevin Striegle was in the stands during Saturday’s Nationwide series crash at Daytona International Speedway.

The crash, involving numerous Nascar Nationwide drivers, injured 28 people when debris from the wreck flew into the stands.  A 14-year-old was listed in critical condition on Saturday, and another adult was undergoing surgery after a life-threatening head trauma.

Striegle was just a few rows over from where the crash occured but was not injured in the wreck. Click on the video player for his perspective on what happened in the moments during and after the horrifying crash.
