KENTWOOD, MICH – Kentwood firefighters were able to get a house fire under control pretty quickly Thursday evening.

Crews were first called to a home in the 800 block of Pembroke Street just after 10:00 p.m.  First responders reported heavy smoke coming from the home.

Officers at the scene tell FOX17 the people inside were able to get out safely.  No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
