GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — While not much additional snow is in the forecast as we head into the weekend, we won’t lose much of the current snowpack either.

Temperatures will be in the low to mid-30s Thursday, with a few light and scattered snow showers and flurries continuing into the day.  That should gradually end by Thursday evening.

Beyond that, clearing will likely be gradual into Friday and the weekend, with a north breeze pulling in some cooler air through the weekend.  High temperatures will likely stay in the upper 20s to around 30° Saturday and Sunday, allowing winter sports enthusiasts to still enjoy pleasant conditions into the first weekend in March.

Sunshine and dry air will help to gradually clear lingering snow and ice off the roads, but won’t make much of a dent in the snowpack.  Temperatures appear to warm up a bit for the second half of next week, but nothing like the massive warmup we saw last March is in the medium-range forecast.
