GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A military family received the keys to a home during Habitat for Humanity of Kent County’s dedication.

The home was built for a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps.  He and his wife partnered with Veteran Habitat Build, which is a program designed to help current and previous military members become home owners.

‘We are committed to serving more military families with an annual Veteran Habitat Build, ‘ Mary Buikema, executive director of Habitat Kent said in the release. ‘It’s our way of thanking veterans for their service to our country and partnering with them to build a home of their own.’

Habitat for Humanity said this is their third Veteran Habitat Build, located in the Wealthy Heights neighborhood.
