WHITEHALL, Mich. – The Whitehall District Schools have closed Thursday morning, due to what is being described as an act of vandalism.
According to an official we spoke with on the scene, someone let the air out of enough tires to render the majority of their fleet inoperable for the morning. Police are also on the scene, but the superintendent says the school will handle everything in-house without involving the police.
The original notice was given by way of the district’s Facebook page:
“No school today, Thursday, March 7th, 2013. Our busses are not operable and we transport 1400 students out of 2100. We are not able to get them running within two hours or even by noon. We will post information as we receive it in an effort to keep you informed. I apologize for the inconvenience and late notice.”
Our crew on the scene is gathering more information, and we’ll have more updates as they become available.
(Video is of the scene only; no audio.)

This just happened at a school district in Maine a couple of days ago. I wonder if it's a copycat episode.
