WEST MICHIGAN – The attached snapshot is from our FOX 17 forecast model FutureTrack HD and is valid at 6:00 PM Saturday. While we may see a little snow Friday night into Saturday morning, the remainder of the weekend will generally be uneventful. In fact, there may be some late-day clearing Saturday afternoon.

Normal high temp for this time of year have us in the middle 40s, but we’ll be stuck in the 30s Saturday and Sunday even though we may see a little sunshine. Remember in March of last year (2012) when temperatures soared in to the 70s and 80s across the area. unfortunately, that early season warm up caused the fruit trees to bud, only to be killed by a late season frost. About 95 to 98 percent of the apple crop was wiped out last year because of it.

Our next chance at seeing some precipitation in here will be on Monday. Temperatures will be warm enough (again) for the possibility of a rain/snow mix, especially  by Monday afternoon. Stay tuned to later forecasts as that could change. To get a look at current temperatures, satellite, radar, or the 7-Day forecast, simply go to www.fox17online.com/weather. Have a pleasant weekend!
