GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport University opened up their new athletic complex Wednesday.
It’s called Farmers Athletic Complex, which was donated to the university from Farmers Insurance.
The 17-acre addition hosts a baseball and softball field, along with eight tennis courts.
“This is a milestone for us,” said Richard Pappas, President of Davenport University.” This whole facility is sort of a field of dreams.”
Athletic director, Paul Lowden said the school began athletics seven years ago. At that time, he said there were zero facilities.
“Just four years later, we build a complex, which I think might be the best in all West Michigan,” Lowden said.
The baseball and softball fields seat about 300 people. There is also new lighting for night games, as well as a concession area, public restrooms, locker rooms and press boxes.
”We’re excited to have this open,” Pappas said. ”We’re ready to play some baseball, softball and some tennis.”

It seems like an article like this would include the location of the new fields. Btw, its not in Grand Rapids as the first line of the article states.
