KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Crews will be working on trees along the western side of Portage Street Thursday, causing a midday closure.

The southbound lane of Portage Street from Reed Avenue to Alcott Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for tree removal. The street could be reopened earlier if the work is completed before 4 p.m.
