Power Out Near Downtown Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Problems at a substation caused a power outage for 2,300 Consumers Power customers near downtown Grand Rapids Tuesday morning.

The Consumers Power Outage Map showed outage areas in the Heartside and Black Hills neighborhoods and the near West side west of US-131.

The problem was centered in the Wealthy substation, and power was restored before 6 a.m.
