GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Cold, wet, and windy conditions will continue during the day Thursday, with the chance of some freezing rain north of Grand Rapids.

Temperatures will stay mainly in the 30s, with winds out of the northeast as high as 20 to 30 miles per hour during the day.

The first area of rain moving out of West Michigan has left most locations with at least another half-inch of precipitation since midnight Thursday morning.  More is expected on a more scattered basis throughout the day and into Friday before the area gradually dries out into Saturday.

Temperatures hovering near freezing at times during the day Thursday and again Thursday night may produce some freezing rain and icy conditions, mainly north of I-96.  That is not expected to be widespread.

Falling upper-level temperatures may lead to some snow also mixing in with rain across most of the region at times Friday into Saturday.  It’s possible some snow may stick to grassy and raised surfaces early Saturday before coming to an end.

Temperatures should slowly rebound as we move into next week.
