WEST MICHIGAN – With the two to three inches of rain we’ve had over the past few days, it goes without saying that those who live next to or around a river/creek/stream should stay tuned to later hydrologic forecasts.
Our forecast models are showing the possibility of another half-inch to one inch more of rain across the area over the next 24 hours. Standing water, ponding on roadways, and rising rivers will continue as runoff and storm water find their way to the Rogue, Grand, and other rivers. We have several different Flood Warnings, Flood Advisories, and Flood Watches in effect across the West Michigan area. Suffice to say that the rain has been plentiful. unfortunately, it appears as if next week may be on the wet side as well. Click hereto see all of the advisories in effect.
We also have Winter Weather Advisories in effect for our northern counties of Ocean, Newaygo, and Mecosta through 8:00 AM Friday. There is the chance of some freezing rain, sleet, and snow showers mixing in overnight with light rain in these locations and creating some tricky road conditions.
