WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Another wet night is on the way, followed by less rain and more wind on Friday.

This image from FOX 17 Radar shows the heaviest rain along and south of I-94. These areas will have the heaviest rain overnight, though all of us should get at least some additional rain.

It was a record-setting day for rainfall. In Grand Rapids, the total has been 3.10″ so far, easily beating the old record of 1.44″ set in 1939. In Muskegon, the rainfall of 1.61″ was also record-setting. The old record was 0.71″ in 1917.

In Grand Rapids, this was the wettest day in nearly two years. On July 27, 2011, there was 3.49″.

The rain will become lighter Friday and possibly even mix with snow. However, the big story Friday will likely be the gusty winds. Winds of over 45 miles per hour are possible throughout the day. All of West Michigan is under a wind advisory from 8am until 8pm.

Flooding will remain a huge problem for the next several days, since most area rivers will not crest until Sunday or Monday. For the latest, join us on FOX 17 News, or visit the weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
