WYOMING, Mich. – A car burst into flames early Saturday morning after colliding into a semi-truck, leaving two occupants in critical condition.

According to the Wyoming Police Department, deputies responded to the incident in the front of 4600 Clyde Park Avenue Southwest just after midnight.

A northbound passenger vehicle reportedly struck the semi-truck which was turning southbound onto Clyde Park from the USF Holland parking lot. According to witnesses, the passenger vehicle was seen traveling at a high-speed just before the accident.

On arrival, officers found the vehicle engulfed in flames and witnesses reportedly already removed the two injured occupants, except for one man who was still left in the burning vehicle.

Wyoming Police removed the front seat passenger, 26-year-old Clarence Lavar-Dominique Lewis, after using fire extinguishers to hold back the flames. Officer Jeremy Walter was then able to cut Lewis loose from his seat belt so that others could pull him to safety.

Officers rendered first aid to the three victims until Wyoming Fire and Life Ambulance personnel arrived on the scene.

The two other injured occupants were identified as 24-year-old Troy Durayle Milton (driver), and 24-year-old Jacques Devon Strong. All three occupants were transported to local hospitals where two remain in critical condition. One is currently in stable condition.

The driver of the semi was not injured.
