NEW YORK CITY — Central Michigan’s Eric Fisher made history on Thursday night and at the same time fulfilled a life long dream.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Fisher as the #1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

“I don’t know what to say. It’s unbelievable. A dream come true,” said Fisher.

Fisher is just the second Central Michigan Chippewa player to be taken in the first round of the NFL draft. Rockford native Joe Staley was selected 28th overall in 2007.

Fisher, a 6’7” tackle out of Rochester, Michigan also makes history as the highest drafted player ever to come out of the Mid-American conference.
