042712TEMPS2GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — (FOX 17) Temperatures will continue to warm today thanks to sunshine and light winds. Afternoon high’s should reach into the mid to upper sixties by early evening. Light winds out of the south around five to ten miles per hour will lead to a pleasant afternoon for outdoor activities.

Temperatures will remain warm and above average through the middle of next week, however temperatures are trending much cooler by the end of next week. If you plan to get into the garden over the next few days keep in mind that our average last day for frost and freeze is in the first and second weeks of May.

River levels continue to drop around West Michigan. Many areas along the river like Lowell and Downtown Grand Rapids have fallen below flood stage already. Light rain showers will be possible late tonight and early Sunday morning along and south of I-94, but totals should be very light and not affect river levels. More rain is expected as we head into the middle of next week.
