santiago zapata jr.jpegGRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The trials for two men accused of killing a Grand Valley State University adviser will continue to move forward this week.

Timothy Miller and Maceo Scott are both charged with murder and armed robbery in the death of Santiago Zapata Jr. and in this case, there are two separate trials.

After deliberations over the past week, the jury reached a verdict in Scott’s trial. However, it will remain sealed until a verdict is in for Miller, and in his trial, closing arguments and deliberations are scheduled for today.

Zapata was killed in his Grand Rapids home last September.
