NORTON SHORES, Mich.– Just who is Jessica Heeringa? Her family says she is a kind of “free-spirit”, always there to help anyone and has a heart of gold. But most importantly they say she is a loving mother of a 3-year-old son that is ready for her to come home.

Jessica’s fiancé, Dakota Quail-Dyer says “it’s very tough going home and trying to hold my son and he’s always asking me why I’m crying.”

He says she is the kind of mom that would do anything for her son, always putting him first. “Whoever took her, just because you did wrong do right bring her back to us please. Safely drop off on the side of the road if you don’t want to get caught, something, we just need her back.”

Her grandparents Diane and Roman Homrich say “anybody that met Jessica liked her I don’t think she had an enemy in the world, so I just hope he lets her go.”

That last time Jessica’s mom, Shelly Heeringa saw her daughter was Wednesday, “I’m so glad I seen her and told her how much I love her. She’s just a wonderful person, I can’t say anymore I think anybody that went into that gas station probably was greeted with a smile.”

It’s easy to see to see how much Jessica is loved, her mom finding some sense of normalcy as she talks about the great person she is. “Her favorite group was the Beatles she loved them, peace signs, tie-dye. She’s kind of an old soul, she loved that old music.”

Her family says she was working at the gas station taking on extra shifts, just trying to make ends meet for her family after her fiancé got laid off. She has dreams of going to college, loves math and wants to be accountant.

That’s why they know she didn’t go without a fight, “she is so intelligent and I feel like if she wouldn’t have put up a fight is because she was already planning a way to get away, she’s going to be that person.”
