GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Seven weeks after her disappearance, answers are coming for the family of Latrice Maze.

The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office tells FOX 17 that Jahleel Hoskins, 25, will be charged with open murder and tampering with her body at an arraignment on Wednesday.

There’s no word yet on whether investigators have discovered Maze’s body.

“But the work’s not over with,” Grand Rapids Police Captain Jeff Hertel. “We’re happy because we’re able to provide at least a couple answers to the Maze family.”

Maze, 26, went missing on March 19 from the corner of Division and Burton on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. She’s a mother to five children.

Hoskins has been questioned several times by police during this investigation, Hertel says.

It appears Hoskins made no efforts to hide during Maze’s disappearance.

FOX 17 has video of Hoskins at an April 1 prayer vigil for Latrice. A crew on scene that evening says Hoskins declined to be interviewed when asked to speak about Latrice.

“It’s so unreal how someone can just hurt a precious person like Latrice,” Victoria Ezell, Maze’s aunt, said via text Tuesday. “That hurts my heart to see someone so cold-blooded.”
