Two Sparta Men Charged For Breaking Into A Home

Damone Hammock and Brandon cookeALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two Sparta men have been charged with breaking into a home after Kent County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home invasion in progress.

Twenty-Nine-Year-Old Brandon Cook and 35-Year-Old Damone Hammock both from Sparta have been arraigned and charged with Home Invasion 1st Degree and have $100,000 bond.

On June 16, Kent County Sheriff’s Deputies responded  to the 8000 block of North Division Avenue in Alpine Township. During their investigation, police learned that multiple homes had been burglarized in the neighborhood. A cache of stolen property was found in a nearby wooded area and returned to the victims. Three homes in the area  have been identified as being broken into. Investigators believe from other property recovered there are additional victims.

The investigation identified the two suspects involved committed the crimes while on bicycles.
