WWM GR StartGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —  Nearly 400 West Michigan residents took a step in the right direction to support people with disabilities and other special needs during Easter Seals Michigan’s 9th Annual Walk With Me Grand Rapids event at John Ball Park & Zoo on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. The enthusiastic walkers raised approximately $68,000 to support programs that help children and adults with disabilities successfully live, learn, work and play in their respected Grand Rapids communities.

Special guests who turned out for the walk included Andrew Muir and Eric Jensen, Easter Seals Michigan Walk Ambassadors; Kelly Smith, Fox 17; Jori Hartwig, Regional Chief Marketing Officer Amway North America; and Dan Shimmer, CVS Caremark district manager.

Easter Seals will use the money from this year’s walk to fund a wide range of therapy programs, including Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, P.L.A.Y. (Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters) Therapy, Therapeutic Riding and Summer Camps.
