Independence Day Parade and Firework Events in West Michigan

(WXMI)- The Annual Grand Rapids Fourth of July Parade is cancelled this year due to lack of participation. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the many other festivities in honor of Independence Day in West Michigan.

Here’s a list of some Fourth of July events happening in your area:

Kentwood – Parade starts on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at 52nd Street and Eastern Avenue SE traveling south on Eastern to 60th Street SE to Ridgebrook Drive. Saturday evening celebration kicks off at 6 p.m. and includes rides, music, sky divers, carnival games and food at Crestwood Middle School on 44th Street SE. Fireworks start at dusk.

Holland – More than 30 talented street performers will perform from 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. along 8th Street and then the Celebration Freedom and Fireworks are from 2 p.m. until dusk at Kollen Park.

Hart – Hart Sparks starts Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. in downtown Hart and includes kids activities, a cornhole tournament, live music, food and fireworks.

Ionia – The Ionia Free Fairgrounds are having fireworks starting at dusk on Wednesday.

Allegan – The Jubilee Independence Celebration starts at dusk on Wednesday downtown on the riverfront. Activities start at 5:30 p.m.

Ludington – The Children’s/Pet Parade starts Wednesday, and the Grand Parade is held on Thursday in the early afternoon traveling down Ludington Avenue. The fireworks start at dusk over Lake Michigan and can be seen from numerous location along the water. This is part of Ludington’s harbor festival being held from June 28 – July 7.

Grand Haven – The Grand Haven Annual 4th of July Fireworks start right after the musical fountain show at dusk at the Waterfront Stadium downtown.
