Muskegon Heights Shooting Suspect Arrainged in Two Cases

Curtis BrownMUSKEGON, Mich. — The 24-year-old Muskegon Heights man suspected in two shooting cases last Thursday, June 27, has been charged with three gun-related felonies, according to Muskegon County Prosecutor Tim Maat.

Curtis Lee Brown Jr. was arrested last Saturday night on warrants, and could face life in prison if convicted of the charge of carrying a concealed weapon as a fourth-time habitual offender.  In the other case, he is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, also as a fourth-time habitual offender, and possessing a firearm while committing a felony.

Brown has been linked to several shootings, including two Thursday night, and is known to carry a weapon on him, according to Maat.  His bond was set at $200,000 in Muskegon County Court, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 10.
