kalamazoo-county-unit-day-genericKALAMAZOO, Mich. — Two Kalamazoo party stores were temporarily shut down Tuesday while deputies seized evidence they say will prove that the owner and employees were selling stolen alcohol and cigarettes.

Howard’s Party Store, 1366 Portage St., and G&M Party Store, 2302 East Main, were closed for roughly two hours while Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Deputies searched them.  Both stores are owned by the same person, but deputies say that employees were also reselling stolen goods that they purchased from customers and relisted for sale.

The stores are currently reopen, but charges are expected to be filed against all suspects once the reports are finalized.
